Gas gauge wont work but sometimes works.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I bought this ford for 300$ with the gas tank in rough shape, I replaced the
gas tank in my auto class so it at least doesn't leak anymore. but the gas
gauge works rarely when it wants but it usually reads empty. please help me
out,,, thxx
