2014 Chevu Cruz not starting if it sat a day or two.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2014 Chevy Cruze.  In November/2016, I experienced my car being totally dead and  needing a jump start.  The weather was not cold, I have a garage, but it had been two days since I drove it.  After it was started I drove it to the Dealership I purchased it from, they reviewed and said the battery was fine and could not find any issues.  This  repeated itself on 1/23/17. Again I hadn't drove it in two days, due to having surgery.  Roadside assistance came out & started it for me and said both battery and alternator are in good condition but suggested I go to autozone because they have a machine that can tell if you might have a bad cell in your battery.   I did that & no bad cell(s).  I called the Dealership and reported all this so I can try to find out what could be causing this, a loose wire, connection somewhere, who knows.  I was told that in the battery there are live modules that retain the (digital) reading for odometer readings, etc., and if I don't drive my car everyday I do need to at least start it up & let it run for a few minutes, to keep these active.  Really?  I do work full time so normally I do run it everyday, but there are times I may have some time off and I don't, so is this something that is actually for real?  Because if it is and at point of sale I was told, oh, by the way, you do want to start your car every day or you could wake up to a dead battery, I would say, show me another car.  I know many people, not Chevy car owners that have never experienced this and have digital readings in their car and can leave it for a week and not worry about the battery going dead.

That is correct. With a good battery you should be able to let your car sit until the next time you go to start it. I am surprised nobody is thinking of doing a parasitic draw test to find out why the battery is getting drained. You might want to find someone to do this.

This is the exact same issue that I am currently having with my 2014 Cruze. I have been told by many that it is my starter... I mean really my car is right at 3 years old, is this even normal?
