No spark

Asked by Jul 02, 2017 at 09:00 PM about the 1984 Ford Ranger STD Standard Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1984 Ford Ranger 2.8 V6 it has no spark
no fire I've changed the ignition coil the modulator
the rotor and the distributor cap and still no fire the
plug on the ignition coil wires have been redone so
if I could get a diagram on how that plug wires up
on the ignition coil that would be great but is there
anything else I could check that would cause it not
to fire

Does the distributor rotor spin o.k. when cranking? Other thoughts are degraded wiring or contact points need a good cleaning perhaps with sandpaper.

Rotor turns fine If u could direct me to a diagram that show me where the 3 wires go coming out the ignition coil

Ive even check for fire though the portal wire at the ignition module Thats what lead me to change the rotor an cap an the ignition module
