Hi guys, a mate has found an f-350 4x4
cummins 5.9/6bt 5 speed manual 2 door
tray back. I've tried googling it and it to
find out if it's as rare as this bloke is telling
us or if it's just a engine transfer done? Any
advice is appreciated. Cheers
Ford didn't use Cummins they used International Diesels, Cummins is a Dodge thing. Sounds like just a engine swap too me. You can put those engines is just about anything by making up some brackets and using adapter plates. Seen one in a Ford Bronco once, he said easy fit as it had a straight six in it to begin with, was really happy with the way it would pull stuff, like stumps.
Hey mate thanks heaps for the help. Really appreciate it a lot
Thanks, after reading your post I started looking into engine swaps using diesels and I found out the back then there were a lot of swaps happening in pickups, last of them were using Perkings 3 cylinder diesels but there were also some Isuzus right along with the Cummins 6 cylinder. From what I could learn most of these were haulers or what they called stump pullers, not really meant for high speed freeways but more for city or off road. HTH
