I have a 1989 f150 xlt lariat with the 5.0 and a 4
speed manual. I do a lot of highway driving and
very little off-roading. I live in Montana, so 4x4 is a
must, but i would like my truck to be more highway
friendly. I would like to keep the truck a manual.Is
there a 5 speed 4x4 transmission that will fit my
truck?

An AOD tranny was used in the F-series trucks in 89, but I believe it was a four speed.

You're correct, I misread your post to mean you were looking for an automatic.
