Got a 1989 ford larait 4.9 sometimes it will start and sometimes wont can spray starting fulid and will start every time what should i look for ?

Check for spark during STARTing. If you have spark then check for proper fuel pressure during START. If you have spark and proper fuel pressure during START, then test the Crank Position Sensor. If your engine doesn't have a Crank Sensor then you should have a Hall-Effect Sensor on the distributor. You should check for pulse on the injectors with a noid light.
