1986 Ford F150

My truck is having problems when I start it the
engine will rev up real high and stay there also
when I drive it it feels like the gears aren't shifting
any ideas what the problem could be?

Reving issue could possibly ur TPS- trottle positioning sensor.. Not.sure on transmission
