Ford F-150

Asked by Stump249 Aug 16, 2018 at 09:55 PM about the 1986 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat Standard Cab 4WD SB

Question type: General

I have recently bought a 1986 Ford F-150 XLT Lariet 4X4.  It is two-tone Grey on black with dark red interior.  Most of the emissions sticker is faded out.  Where can I search to find a photo of the vehicle and the different options that were available?  Google is not much help.

Look in these areas to see what you can find: stamped in metal somewhere on the frame, riveted to the dash or stickered on the door or jamb. Whom did you buy it from?

I've got the VIN and title. The guy I bought it from got it in a trade 2 months ago. I'm not sure how many owners its had. I'm looking to restore the truck and drive it from time to time. Hard to find a XLT Lariat 4x4 with power windows and locks that has a solid drivetrain. I was really looking for a website with info on available options for the '86 year model and/or some photos to see the decals.

Locate a web site which will decode your vin number. It will give you basic info as to the engine, tranny, and trim level. As for every possible accessory, you will have to do an more specific internet search. If you have the original owners manual you can page through it. The manual will cover every possible accessory. Usually, the headings in bold will have a notation (if equipped) next to the particular section.
