At what mileage is it suggested to change the timing chains on the 3.6 penastar? It says nothing about it in the scheduled maintenance.

But, don't they damage the engine when they break? How can you tell if it is stretched or warn? On my last car it was recommended to change the timing chain at 110,000 in the owners manual under scheduled maintenance. I have 125,000 on a 2012 Ram C/V cargo van with the 3.6.

like Tom said, they usually last a long time, are you hearing any rattling when it runs?
