Dashboard lit up like a christmas tree

Asked by Madelynn Dec 10, 2020 at 03:23 PM about the 2014 Subaru Forester 2.5i Premium

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had the dashboard basically light up while driving,
and the AT TEMP light was flashing, I had a solid
check engine light, the ABS light was on, and the
hill assist light.

when I let the engine cool, the AT TEMP LIGHT
turns off, and only the check engine, hill assist
lights are on along with a blinking cruise control and
traction control lights.  All these lights turn off when
I let the car sit for a long time without driving it, but
then will come back on when I drive for more than
45 minutes

The AT light flashing is an indication the transmission is detecting an issue. Have a dealer or good mechanic diagnose the issue, they can scan the vehicle for any codes. It can be an internal failure, a solenoid or low fluid level. The CEL on is probably related. I would make an appointment ASAP to prevent any more possible damage.

Scan for codes. Subaru likes your dash to light up like a Christmas tree to get your attention.

Report scanned codes here. Have scanner ERASE codes and see what recurs, as there are too many options from your experience.
