Jeep remote and gauge issue

Asked by GuruZVGGQ Oct 24, 2017 at 12:08 PM about the 2014 Jeep Patriot Latitude

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Worked completely fine. Then....
My clock on my radio will reset self to
12:00am - all presets still there tho.
My temp gauge for outbside temp won’t
work
Key fob with remote start unresponsive
3 second delay in turn on/off vehicle no
stalling
Sometimes headlights are delayed in
turning off beyond the delayed setting.

I can get in to drive to work, clocks at
12:00am .. set clock tonight time
Get to work turn off. Get back in to go to
bank few hours later back to 12:00am
reset (or cycle) again. Get back from bank
and turn off, get in to go home and
fine..clock holds, outside temp correct no
issues. Key fob works so does remote
start.

Brought to jeep dealing after hours of
research. Jeep said wcm. Changed it. Then
they went to program key to wcm errored 4
times they couldn’t get to program. New
key fob. Issue seemed ok til 2 days later
doing it again. Bring back to jeep. They
checked wiring. Wiring fine. Pulled and
checked wiring connections all fine. Put
back together picked up jeep . All was fine
for three weeks.
Now doing it AGAIN! Called jeep back
again! They think the main computer which
I can’t afford to replace right now but really
think it’s temp related.
Ok I watched when it does this...
57 degrees ...fine
53... fine
51 fine
37 over night..fine
Next morning 43 back to 12:00am no key
fob function ....
Any ideas PLEASE!!

Also: brought to second mechanic and he checked codes and all it brought up was my satellite radio was wrong time zone. We cleared it reset it. Didn’t make a difference still did it. I asked about battery be slowly dying he said if battery, your presets wouldn’t be there either not just the time resetting back to 12:00am. Jeep said it could* be* the other computer which is 649+ labor but no guarantee that’s what it is tho they won’t know unless they replace it or... which he thinks it is a temp related issue Temp related how? Fob won’t unlock/ lock door and remote start won’t work but inside door locks will. Jeep said when they had it they contacted corporate about what else to do and everything they suggested they tried and it still does it. At first I thought it was a time thing. Jeep checked software everything’s updated and fine. Ex husband still wonders if battery because if too cold the amps... may drain just enough to mess with things. But it’s not that cold it been avg 40-55 at night. Jeep reimbursed the wcm price almost 400 with more labor and new keyfob since that wasn’t the issue they thought. If I put this other computer in for 649 I can’t be reimbursed for since electrical... and if This part isn’t it I lose 649 for a guess?? Don’t want to go this route yet. Could it be battery? Could or how could it be temp related? Any other suggestion I would appreciate

Ok cycled thru resetting time a second time today and let it warm up for almost 15 minutes turned off walked away tried to use key fob and nothing. Maybe after I actually drive it to bank yet today which is right down road? Raining and 46 degrees right now. Sometimes can reset come to work turn off and mid morning try to use keyfob and works but still have to reset everything and it will hold. Hence why thought maybe had something to do with the computer and time... Jeep says they never seen anything like this
