Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2014 Jeep Patriot can't speed more than 80mph on normal flat roads and
can't go beyond 10mph on hills. We suspected fuel pump and just replaced but
it continues behaving the same.  It is starting well without any problem. Am not
sure what could be the problem. Any suggestions?

I think you are correct to suspect a fuel delivery problem. I would have tested fuel pressure before replacing the fuel pump on a Jeep that new. But now you might want to replace the fuel filter, as the original is about due. I would also scan for codes to make sure it's not something else. It's probably nothing serious so look forward to any easy fix.

Thank you so much for this useful response. You are actually, right. I did a car engine diagnosis and found out that it was retaining pressure and needs to replace the Catalyst converter. However, am in a region where the garage personal do not know if they should remove the filter like piece that is found at the end or they should remove the plate itself. Any hint on how to change the catalyst converter? Or can the catalyst converter be cleaned and reused?

I am sorry I can not help you on the catalytic converter, but knowing they can be expensive, I would attempt to clean it out somehow. You can't make it any worse. If is clogged with carbon, I would try to scrap it out or burn it out with a torch while being careful not to melt the screen that retains the catalyst, those metallic pellets. And I am wondering why all that carbon? Maybe you air filter is clogged, causing an overly rich mixture. Thank you for the compliment. Good Luck
