Rear outer tail light is out
Asked by Jeff Sep 20, 2022 at 07:14 AM about the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4WD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. The drivers side rear outer tail
light is out. The turn signal/brake combo bulb works, as does the reverse
bulb. The light I am referring to kind of outlines the outer tail light assembly
when the lights are on. When I remove the assembly there is three ports,
two house bulbs and the third is two wires that run into the assembly. It is
new and the previous tail light assembly worked fine (minus the broken
plastic). I am wondering if I just got a faulty replacement.

The bundle that's out is in the quarter panel, separated from the bundle in the tailgate. If the previous unit worked properly and the new one didn't upon install, it might be a defective unit or an electrical connection that wasn't done properly. Get a multi-meter and test it. Or take it to someone who knows how to work on body electronics.

Don't you just love CarGurus and their inability to post answers when given..... Makes me tired of coming here!
Both tail and brake lights are in that housing so there will be three wire connections, one for turn signal/brake, one will be tail light and one ground, so check for all of those and if you have them then you have a bad unit.
Yes there is a problem with answers not posting.

There used to be tons of spam , there may be filters holding things up
I remember that, sometimes it was page after page and you had to sort through it flagging it as you went. Glad that’s over.
Filters; Schmilters... We don't need any stinkin' filters.
