Question type: General

my dodge dakota makes no heat, I have flushed the entire coolant system, tried
three new thermostats to no avail, but my motor never gets up to the halfway
mark on the temp guage, tried blocking the radiator yet nothing changes, why.

It may be a bad heater core or heater control valve. With the engine warmed up and the heater on, are the heater hosed (under the hood going into the firewall) getting warm? If not, you may need a heater core.

I had this exact problem as did my dad in his 92. Simply reverse the hoses on your heater core...sounds crazy but it fixed both of our heat probs in our dakotas.. right up top super easy fix.
