ECM fried when I put a fresh battery in.

ECM fried when I put a fresh  battery in. What
would cause this and should I be worried about
napping again when I replace the ECM.

On my 95 Dakota, I had to replace the ECM on replacing the battery. I've had to replace ECM's on all Mopar products I've owned. I recommend removing the ECM relay when disconnecting or connecting the battery

If you mean the battery I made sure I connected positive to positive

So do you think it's safe to replace? This is the first time anybody has messed with it and around 10 years.
