Just do and normal service with the filter replacement, and look for any transmission material in the pan or stuck too the magnet, if there is material in the pan or magnet then it may already be too late, but if the fluid fluid looks good and doesn't smell burnt you might be okay, you might consider putting a quart of TransX in during the refill, this will slowly help clean the internals and revitalize the seals, and then you should do another service after about a month of normal driving, and then add some LubeGuard for Toyota, and if everything is as it should be it should make it too,the next service interval in 30000 miles.

2013 avalon has no dipstick, it is serviceable only at the toyota dealer, and you cannot take of the pan so easily.
