I’m not even going to attempt anything on this one. Why would anyone pull the fuel injection off and add carburetor with some Mickey Mouse intake manifold.

It was like this when I bought it, and I ordered a new intake for it. Also, 84’s never had fuel injection since that started on the 1985 model.

Once you get the stock manifold try your local lid or an vacuum diagram. It will be in the reference section, you can have it photocopied. Or if your parts store can still get one you can order a shop manual. Now EBay does have some old Ford factory vacuum manuals, it sounds like the original decal is gone that was on the radiator core support.

So, turns out the previous owner swapped it for a 2.9l, which explains a whole lot of problems. Now I have to decide if I want to put fuel injection into a truck that its not made for or just put a 2.8 back in it. Or somehow figure out a way to carburate the 2.9, but I don’t think that’s possible.

One of the Bronco club sites said that an old 2.6 intake would work with some minor modifications but I haven’t seen any of those in years, they came from the early Mercury Capri V6. To make the 2.9 work as it should you will need to find the calibration code and hope you can locate a donor rig in a wrecking yard with that same number and take everything electronically related and put it on. This sounds almost impossible. You might be better off finding a complete 2.8 and put it in. That is if you really like doing projects cause that is what you have.
