My 03 escape wont shift

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 03 escape wont shift into any gear. It doesn't
even try. No previous slipping or transmission
problems. Any suggestions?

Manual or automatic? If it is an automatic, check the transmission fluid level.

Fluids are fine. I got it to go in gear a couple of times but not every time. When I do it bogs down and barely moves.

I had this happen and it was a connecting bolt from the shifter to the transmission. It was hard but I reconnected it and put in a makeshift pin to hold it.
