fuel pump fuse fails

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

replaced fuel pump and fuel pump relay with new parts.
fuel pump fuse continues to fail 20 amp fuse melts

Sounds like there is a problem with wiring to the fuel pump or with the PCM. I would say take this to a mechanic to find out what is causing it to pull too much amperage.

was it doing this with the old fuel parts?relays can be bad new in a few cases

ok. ive had this problem. check your wiring all over to make sure there is no bare wires. my old car right before i sold it to my friend did this. we had to take the wiring harness off and redo it. took it a part, taped all of the wiring because there were alot of wires bare. so i would check that 1st
