96 Dodge Caravan

Asked by morena1327 Mar 06, 2016 at 03:11 PM about the 1996 Dodge Caravan SE FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I left the lights on inside&out for like 5min w/engine
off.  The battery died and we jump started the van.
The next day, it kinda stalked to turn on. And now
my speedometer and the rpm gauge aren't working.
What could it be?

Disconnect the battery cables, negative first, clean cables and battery posts. When you reconnect do positive cable first, negative cable last. Disconnecting and cleaning the connections assures that you have good connection and also resets the computer. Also, what is the condition of the cable clamps? if they have the aftermarket replacement ends on them take that apart also and clean thoroughly.
