Why won't car idle?

I have a Dodge Neon 1997 SOHC. Put new water pump on, new timing belt. I have
checked timing several times. Put new spark plugs on and a new battery. Also checked
cam sensor. It will run as long as you hold down the gas pedal but will not idle. Why will it
not idle?

Honestly I would check the throttle position sensor.

Had a similar problem with sputtering and staling I replacer the valve cover gasket and spark plug gaskets fifteen minute job and only costs twenty bucks fixed er for me

Mmm i tink it may be the output speed sensor...is it the odometer the one does not work?if it is ...most likely its the output shaft speed sensor...have that problem my self at least 3 times on like 7 years i have my car...if youre tinking on replacing itll be better to replace both input and output speed sensor ..to have better results..its actually recommended to change both if one gets to fail.
