Can the washer fluid line (under firewall to hood) be encased in flexible conduit for protection?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Chipmunks have now twice eaten the washer hose just around Y connection to sprayer ports.  This is located between firewall cover and bottom of hood.  Fluid everywhere has molded the firewall panel which needs replaced - again - along with hose line.  Can those washer lines be covered with a hard flexible conduit to protect from these critters?  I can't take off work every couple months and spend $300 to repair/replace these items.  Second time in two months this has happened.  Firewall insulation cover gets saturated and covered in black mold quickly - I have asthma so makes it hard to drive my own car when this happens.

No - it is open around the entire hood with this fire insulation panel that is held on with clips. They can crawl in at any point between clips to get inside so can't do any kind of screening. But, if I can ask to have conduit of some sort placed over it when repaired again then at least the future will be brighter! Thanks.
