When I kickdown my car to accelerate it doesn't deliver power?

Asked by jhchecri May 28, 2016 at 07:48 AM about the 2013 Kia Sportage EX AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

(Sorry but I can't select peugeot for some reason so I took a kia just to get
this post out)
I would like to buy a 2004 peugeot 206cc. When I took it for a test drive, I
tried to accelerate to the point where it had to kick down to deliver power
(goes in a lower gear with more RPM), and the car sort of "strangled", it
didn't deliver the power it was supposed to and it stoped, I had to
accelerate less fast for it to work. Any explanation ? And any idea how
much this would cost ?
Apart from that it is top notch for the price
Sorry for my English guys I am french, love me some peugeot ;)

Pay for a prepurchase check out NOT at there faculty! a Complete inspection WILL include a leakdown test preformed on the engine and all results recorded, along with chassis and powertrain inspection images and or recorded media or old school paper printed. AFAIK software scan tool ONLY $200 is fair for the REAL inspection call around

Yeah I was going to do it on Monday any way, but I just wanted to know first I anyone had any idea like a fuel injector problem or something else. Thx for your answer

Injectors rarely have problems those things are really reliable, more likely is a fuel pressure issue or fuel ratio (fuel trim) IF, any fuel related problems. regards

Do not buy anything that has problems- the world is full of cars- billions of them- pass on this one- and find something that has not been broken- why not find a great, one owner, old lady 505 station wagon? it will run perfectly for a long time and deliver more style than ANY 21st Century car-

@Jamnblues I have been searching for over a year and a half for a clean car, second hand offcourse, and I have to say never found one this clean. It was lady driven and has low millage (20k km) and the motor has no issues, no weird sounds and nothing. And hardtop works great, overall a great car for 5000 $ ! If that small problem is fixable I am buying it on Monday after a mechanic I know checks it a local garage. Thx anw for the advise :)

@firebird338 do you own one ? Cause I own another peugeot 206 2001 and it has been a perfect ride for me to my college, was looking to upgrade to a more fancy, girl magnet type of car you know, coupe and all ;)
