Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have 1998 dodge Dakota 3.9 5 speed it will start easy but runs about 5
seconds and die. Borrowed a snap on diagnostic scanner not real familiar
with, but went threw complete systems check,  took 2 hrs says no codes. As
soon as dies can turn key off for start right back up for 5 seconds can keep it
running as long as spray starting fluid in intake. I have checked fuel pressure
valve seems to have fuel.thinking a grounded wire or something like that any
ideas plz.

MAF? Disconnect it and see if it continues. It will be right by the air filter. If that isn't it, grab a propane torch if you have one and open it up (dont ignite) and trace the hoses around the engine, if you hear the engine rev you found a leak. There is also an idle air control valve, they get gummed up but you can sometimes remove them and spray them out with a degreaser, engine cleaner, brake cleaner etc and get some more life.

And not sound harsh using my woman's tablet so not. Ignorant woman just stumped

Get some get some throttle body cleaner try cleaning out your throttle body and then it shouldn't cut off no more
