Full body swap on 98 dodge dakota club cab

Asked by GuruW9SKY Apr 14, 2018 at 06:55 AM about the 1998 Dodge Dakota Club Cab 4WD

Question type: Car Customization

I am needing to swap the entire body
off my 98 club cab Dodge Dakota. The
whole body is rusted beyond belief. I
found a 2001 Dodge quad cab, with the
same engine and trans as mine. Will
the bolt pattern lineup if I put this body
on my frame engine and transmission

Dakotas are like the S10, very popular for frame swaps with the hot rod crowd. So join a forum like HAMB (jalopyjournal.com)or any Dakota forum and ask about changes in mounting points between those two years. They're the same generation (2nd) so don't see any significant changes between them. Still, that's a lot of work, why not just pull motor and tranny and junk the rest, then find a non-rusty truck with a bad motor to swap yours into?

Club cab like half door and quad as in 4 full doors if so you have to move the two middle body mounts in the frame about a foot
