2013 Ford Focus

Asked by Drailinfiniti Nov 03, 2018 at 10:57 AM about the 2013 Ford Focus SE Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Vehicle stalls at random times when
stopping or slowing . Ford said they did
a evap update last year . At least that's
what I paid for , but still stalls . I deal
with it . When gas fill up vehicle will not
start , stalls . Restart it and it does fine
until less the 3/4 tank and starts
stalling/ misfire . A few times mileage
to empty gets around 30 to 60 miles
and vehicle runs out of gas . Add gas
does ok . Tonight pulling out of store it
stalled and trying to restart it , 129 to
empty . After about 10 minutes it
stopped cranking , just clicks like
starter . Had no starter issue before . I
am a  mechanic for Infiniti , but do not
know anything about Ford Electronics.
What are some things I can look at ? to
at least get it started and get it back to
the shop where I can have more time
to diagnosis it . Thank you for your help

Check the evaporative emissions purge solenoid. If you truly are a mechanic you should be able to find it. Pretty sure it should be in the closed position until the ECU commands it to open.
