Check engine light

Asked by Jul 29, 2017 at 11:31 PM about the 2013 Ford Focus SE Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My boyfriend gave his car a jump start , my car was
already kind of messing up something with the
transmission . But after this my check engine light
came on and hasn't went back off. Does that mean
something ?

Electrical malfunction most likely. I'd take it to the dealership and have them reset it for free.

Visit your local auto parts store and have the computer scanned for trouble codes. Post the codes here and we can help further. Advance and Autozone will do this for free. The Ford Dealer will NOT. HTH. -Jim
