Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Been having issues with my ac system took to
several shops i have replaced ac control head and
low pressure sensor it wasn't neither. I went to get
it recharged and mechanic manually started my
clutch onmy compressor and ac started blowing
cold air so he told me it must be a electrical issue.
Has anybody had this problem?

Remember with shops you usually get what you pay for! If your air has a leak and it runs low ,the compressor will not come back on untill it is charged! This is because the oil that lubes the compressor is circulated with the pressure, they have a safety that keeps them from running when low. So when you fill it up, it will run again untill it leaks back out! A shop that does not specialized in air conditioning probably does not have a leak detector . If you go to the parts store and buy a can of coolant with oil, that has a Gage to measure pressure, you can see if it's low and fill it. If you take a car to a mechanic and he cannot tell you what is wrong with it , or tells you it's some phantom problem, he should not have worked on it to begin with. The last thing anyone wants to hear from there mechanic is that you need to take your car to a mechanic!

Also ask the mechanic if he guarantees his work, if he says it's problem a and problem a does not fix it,you should not have to pay for it! It defeats the purpose to go to a shop and have them guess and fix things that did not need fixing! If they will not give you a quote in writing and guarantees there fix, go somewhere else. A good ASE CERTIFIED mechanic may cost more, but after having bad mechanic take you for a few hundred dollars and still not have the problem fixed, you will see the benefits on your first visit!

Lmao damn near every dealer does this . In fact there procedures reflect replace then find the problem. Low pressure sensor could be bad.

Thank you i will try to find a ase certified mechanic. I believe it may be a electrical issue it's just weird that compressor and clutch is good i replaced low pressure sensor and ac control. It's something that's not sending signal to the clutch to turn on . If clutch would turn on it would work great i have already seen it when they turned it on manually and a.c started blowing cold. I hope it's not there ecm

if anything it is the AC control switch however with newer cars many things that control the ac also control other sensors so something completely separate from the AC system can cause the AC to not work properly.
