2000 dodge intrepid 2.7 battery light on

Light came on a few days ago all interior
lights dimed an started acting funny like it
wanted to stall I pulled over an left car
running an shut off all lights I only kept
heater on cause it was cold car sat running
for about an hour I turned lights back on an
they where bright again I drove car back
home an it was fine but light was still on 2
days later I'm pulling into my driveway
battery light is still on I lose power steering
an car dies now it won't start it sounds like
its trying to turn over but it won't start any
ideas could it be alternator

have the battery load tested and have the alternator tested also.

Will do funny thing is I went out an tried to start it this morning an it started right up but it's running a little rough
