2013 Chevy Equinox stalling only on sharp turns

Asked by Guru9Q1NBT Mar 04, 2022 at 01:35 AM about the 2013 Chevrolet Equinox LTZ FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just started the last couple times I drove my car. While making severe turns
with little gas applied will make it stall. And continues to stall when, I start
engine if I don't get the wheel straighten out. I need to straighten the steering
wheel and apply gas. Ride ruff for a few moments. I researched on enter net
and feel like the MAP sensor might be responsible. Does anyone have any
experience with this or idea why this is happening....thanks

Could also be a power steering pressure switch. Best thing is to have the system live data checked, so even if there are no codes it can pickup sensors that are showing a misread signal.

Let's see: engine shuts off when making hard, sharp turns. In a ten year old POS, I'd expect that to be a broken ignition switch.

Definitely sounds like the power steering pressure switch. On sharp turns when the steering wheel is turned all the way to one direction the switch is supposed to send a signal to the computer to speed up the engine a little bit to prevent stalling. Hope that helps! Jim
