Shifter will not come out of park

This usually happens when the steering wheel is turned and locked too hard to one side. Try pulling on the steering wheel on one side or the other until you feel it move. When it is moved from the locked position, try shifting out of park at the same time. You should be able to get it out of park at that time.

Could also be the shift lock solenoid not being energized. Check brake switch....not by looking at brake lights but measuring both contacts on switch.....If that type.
