Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My alternator is making a
howling noise. The
dealer said it is still
charging but must be
replaced. They have
ordered a new one. Will I
get a warning light if it
stops charging?

you should get a batt. light icon on the dash if it stops charging but who knows with these newer cars , if it's the bearing it might seize up and burn the serpentine belt

They don't stock alternators for a 1 year old car? Pathetic.
