Whistling noise in the front driver side (Either in the engine compartment or the wheel)

For 2 months, when I start driving in the morning. I've notice a whistling sound either in
the left driver side of the engine compartment or wheel. The sound comes when I'm
driving at 30 mph, then I apply the brakes and the sound is gone. But after I take my
foot off the brake and put on the gas, the sound comes back but sometimes it doesn't.
While I'm driving during the day the sound is gone. I say the whistling sound doesn't
happen all the time. I don't think it's the brakes because I had them checked about 2
months ago. Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing the whistling sound?

whats the engine petrol or diesel? has it got a turbo? could be turbo whistle if so take a look at all rubber pipes to do with air intake and all the clips are in place and are tight also on rare occasions it could be inlet manifold leaking gasket (letting in extra air hence the whistle) hope this helps regards rich

richardmastin. My car runs on regular gas and it's not a turbo.
