2012 to 2014 with 90k miles

Asked by Martins Sep 17, 2018 at 10:01 PM about the 2013 Ford Explorer Limited 4WD

Question type: General

I am in market for an SUV that would be good for every day
travel and camping trips. I have been looking at 2012 to
2014 explorers. But, I am concerned about high mileage
(general) and per year. What could I expect maintenance
wise from explorer with 90 to 100k miles on it?

Really depends on how well the vehicle was maintained by the previous owner. If you see something you like, take a look at the tires. If they are not wearing evenly, expect suspension work is needed. Stick your finger through the holes in the wheel rims and run your finger over the rotors. If there are ribs and grooves, you're looking at a complete brake job. If you are not mechanically inclined, you'll have to have the work done. Complete brake jobs are expensive if you have to pay someone to do it for you.
