air bag light came on in my 2002 intrepid & stay's on. No idea why.

for no apparent reason my air bag light in the dash came on for no reason and stay's on. Can I check this, and if so, how?

It will be a bad sensor more than likely,but that said ,air bag,s should only be touched by a pro,for your safety, you will need to take to a dealer to have it checked. You can remove battery positive cable for a few minute,s to try to reset it,but more than likely it will return,air bag,s can hurt you,so please,Do not tamper with it.
