Looking at buying a 2013 Ford Escape

Asked by Carperson2020 Apr 13, 2021 at 12:12 AM about the 2013 Ford Escape SE FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I’m looking at buying a 2013 ford escape, I
have never owned a Ford before, I have right
now a Toyota, is there more maintenance and
issues for this type of Ford car than there
would be for a Toyota Camry?

Stay away from the 2013 Fords, they have major transmission issues. Stick with Toyota.

Fords are great cars. I have had many and Toyotas too. He is right to make sure you avoid the bad transmissions on several models ask the dealers and check the internet for bad models. The manual models are fine just avoid the automatics.
