2012 bmw 535xi

To start  i replaced the battery bc the car had no power to
move i would turn the wheel and hit the gas and wont drive
then put the wheel straight and it would work  . Figured out
it was the battery replaced it and worked.. fast forward
2weeks im coming of exit  and bam loud noise funny smell
says drivetrain malfunction... turn car off and on resets
itself and i make it few inches before malfunction light
comes on ... took battery out to charge figured it wasnt
running low.. popped it back in and same thing wont drive
unless the wheel is straight.. any ideas ?

If the steering is involved with the car not moving, I would say you have na issue with your power steering pump and not the battery. Have a garage inspect it to verify since you are having problems diagnosing the issue.
