Electric door locks?

Asked by Lockedout Dec 28, 2009 at 10:42 AM about the 2002 Dodge Durango SLT Plus 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Would anyone have an idea why my door locks have taken on a mind of their own? I'm in Montreal, Canada and we hit -30 last week (not uncommon for our winter) and for the first time since I've had the truck, the electric door locks started freaking out, even when the truck has no keys in it! I popped into the dealer and was told they would have to do a ''full diagnostic check, with several hours of labor involved...'' what's new?
Appreciate any input
Tks

My 2003 Durango has done this a few times. It always went away and it seldom happens. I cant remember if it was winter or not as we get -50 somtimes in norther Alberta. If it's only a one time thing I woulnt worry about it yet as mine hasnt done it again in over a year.

Mine was doing he same thing. Really cold here, and when iI had it in the shop for something else, the park lights started flashing, then the locks started chattering. Was intermittent for a few dys but stopped now. Mech thought ctm (timer control module) by left kickplate, maybe cold outside to warm inside, or beginning to fail. Still don't trust it to leave my keys in it.
