buying subaru outback 2012 2.5i limited - high mileage - problems?

I'm looking at a 2012 SO 2.4i Limited in CA that has ~160K miles on it
already.

the Transmission, timing belt and head gasket has been replaced at ~120K
miles 2 years ago.

How long do these replacements last and how many more years/miles do
you think this car will have left? How much do you think this is worth?

Worried about buying a car and having to do a ton of maintenance
afterwards on it.

Use kbb.com to check the price. I would not pay more than a small premium over Blue Book price even with those repairs. My crystal ball is cloudy but I would say the car could die tomorrow or it could have another 100,000 or more miles in it.

Depends on the price, but, listen, that was only 40,000 miles ago. I think it's entirely possible for the car to go another 60,000 miles before you need a new timing belt at least. And, the car is probably good for another 100-120,000 miles. Again, it's all about condition and where else are you going to find a car with recent repairs like this. Provided they can show you the receipts for the work and everything else looks great and checks out....I say go for it.
