Why would my temperature control work backwards

My 02 Dodge Dakota  Temperature   is ok you turn  it too cold it gets hot
Turn it too hot it cold Ac works good I think damper are working right

I take it you just acquired this truck? Either someone put a knob on it from a different year, or they installed the temp control backwards.

That's totally weird.....I would pull a climate control unit from a salvage yard then. How it could totally reverse itself is a good one.

One more thing to add run the ac to day it got the carpet wet on the passenger side

That means that your A/C drain is plugged. Just run a piece of clothes hangar up it.
