2003 neon transmission issue

I have a 2003 dodge neon that acts like it is in
forward and reverse at the same time. doesn't
matter if the shifter is in drive or reverse when you
give it gas it trys to move forward but engine
boggs down. also will not roll when in neutral with
engine running. what is going on with this tranny?

unfortunately it is not the Pawl. when in reverse it sometimes trys to move backwards and sometimes trys to move forward, this is a very strange issue. I've rebuild several auto transmissions but never one that is computer controlled. the tranny acts like its "confused"
