AWD tired "rubbing" when making a turn

If your hearing a rubbing sound ask yourself this- how long has it been since my brakes and rotors have been changed and check the hub unit by taking the tire off and pull forward and backward up top of the tire and bottom and do it side to side.Spin it and see if you hear noises and if it spins freely .Most of the time I’ve found that the pads are hardened and rotars are glazed over and when you apply brakes it will make a grinding sound on one side or even both .There could also be debris in the caliper like a rock also so I start by taking it up to the car wash and spray down into the caliper and drive it then go on from there .Over time rotors develop a ring on the outer edge of the rotor which can cause a rubbing sound also.

Not brakes and rotors. Mine does the same thing.

I don't know the solution yet, but I think it is an issue with the AWD. When I pull that #14 fuse for the AWD system, the issue goes away.

i have 2012 gmc arcadia tires lock up turning left

I had same nouse when turning hard. Pulled wheel. shook wheelbearing , everything tight. Pulled rotor & found 1 delaminated emergency brake shoe. shoe material was just hanging out in there & rubbing when turning. I have owned the car for 8 years & never used the emergency brake ever. So , I just removed the shoe linings from both shoes & put everything back together. Sounds fine now.
