Crank But won’t start

You ever get any answers on this? My sequoia is doing the same thing.

It happens a lot in my 2008. If I switch to my spare key it starts immediately.

Same thing happened to my 2008 Tundra 5.7L . I found the fuel pump relay under the hood and tapped on it. Truck started? I wonder if that is what caused your issue?

Same thing for me, the problem was the fuse for the pump. I changed and the truck started.

I am having this issue and the Toyota dealer couldn’t find anything wrong. When I went to pick it up, I asked if they took it for a test ride. They said no. I said that they can keep it until they do. The next morning the service manager calls and says that it won’t start. They checked the fuse and relay for the fuel system and didn’t find anything wrong. According to them they are ordering a fuel pump and 1 other part ( I forgot the name of the part. Also it doesn’t matter which key I use weather my wife’s or mine the same issue happens. I have read a lot about this on other forums and haven’t found a definitive answer on the cause of the problem. I will update this once I get the truck back. Has anyone noticed if the fuel pump is continually running with the key on? I am thinking that the fuel is not building up pressure in the fuel system and the fuel pump just stays running.

On my 2007 Tundra 5.7 I drove it ten miles to the farm and tried to leave an hour later and it would crank start for a moment and die.Each time I tried, it would fire and die. Waited a half hour and started right up no problem Year later same thing. Year later again same. Always in summer. Twice this year. Starves for fuel but why. Weldon

Have your Vehicle security system scanned for codes- may or may not have any. Toyota have issued a Tech Service Bulletin T-SB-0078-09 for the ENGINE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM, CRANK NO START CONDITION Will most likely have to replace and reprogram the Vehicles Transponder Key Computer Assembly.

My 2012 tundra has the same issue I disconnected the battery for a few minutes then reconnected it and if fired right up

Well, I tried tapping on the fuel pump relay and mine started. 2000 Tundra, Extra cab, 4.7L

Jim, did you ever get an answer on what the issue was with your truck? I'm having the same issue. Replaced fuel pump, relays and spark plugs already.

Always seemed to have flashing light issues with my 2008 Toyota Tundra 5.7L 4x4 especially during the winter or after rain. But I seemed to manage. But now, it overheated so needed a new engine installed. Now it won’t start. Still in the shop. Checking everything. Any ideas?

I'm having this same issue in my 2011 Tundra. Its stalled out twice on me and it's failed to start once. I've replaced the battery, fuel pump assembly, and now working on replacing the fuel pump driver control module (located by the rear drivers side tire). My mechanic thinks that may be the issue though it shows no obvious signs of failure. I guess the next thing to check is the alternator. Once I know I'll update this post.

Any word on this issue?

Fuel Control Module was the issue for mine

I have a lift for my husband’s scooter. Drove home, parked, key in but motor not on so lift works. Unloaded scooter. Put lift back up and went to move 2019 Tundra and it won’t start. Definitely hear battery engaged but truck says not ready to drive.

i have a 2007 tundra 4.7 would not fire up, 4 days later it started up like nothing was wrong. then 2 weeks later would not fire up had to have it towed home. tried to start it for the first time a week later it started up again like nothings is wrong. strange

Mine did the same thing Turned out I had fuel injectors leaking …. floods the motor after you turn it off. Once the fuel dries it starts up Hope this helps
