Which fuse do I need to fix

Asked by rtopper0211 May 28, 2013 at 12:40 PM about the 2004 Dodge Neon SXT Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2004 dodge neon had a light come on for a fuse out. The next day when I went to start it it wouldn't start. So im guessing its a fuse problem since that's the light that came on.  Which fuse do I need to replace.

If it's flashing "fuse" and chiming at the same time, check the IOD fuse... It's in the underhood fuse box in a special plastic retainer (a bit of a pain to remove). These fuses control the flow of power for the "Ignition Off Drain" (radio & clock memory, pcm memory, etc.). When these vehicles arrived at the dealer brand new, these fuses were not installed in an effort to maintain battery charge during transport. If the clock on the radio isn't holding its memory after a "key-on, key-off" cycle, it's more than likely the IOD fuse.
