2004 intrepid intermittent starting problems

Asked by brianrmt Nov 26, 2015 at 05:35 PM about the 2004 Dodge Intrepid SXT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My intrepid (on occasion) doesn't start unless jumped.  Battery is charged and
alternator tests fine.  Even if driving it and i shut it off, it won't start again.  The
entire electrical system shuts down -no dash lights, interior lights, etc.  It acts
like the battery is dead but it isn't.  But then to boost it, it starts up.  I've
removed and cleaned up all connections to battery, posts, etc.

Just because it says it's fully charged does not mean it can hold a load that is why I suggested a load test and anytime you give a vehicle a jump and it starts right up its the battery.
