Total Brake Failure

Asked by GuruCQ8WT Feb 26, 2019 at 02:30 PM about the 2012 Kia Forte EX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2012 Forte and today the brakes failed completely!  I a told that it is
$1200 to replace all the CORRODED piping.  Why would Kia sell a car into
Canada where salty roads are the norm, without explaining there could be
catastrophic brake failures and serious road accidents?  I was only doing
40kph.  Lost total confidence in Kia.

Why would governments put a corrosive chemical on roads knowing it will cost their citizens a lot of money? Unless you get a car made entirely of stainless steel and plastic you will continue to have corrosion problems no matter what brand you buy.
