What causes the battery light to come on a 2012 Dodge Caravan

Have alternator output voltage checked. It should be around 14.5 volts. Also check battery cables. If they are loose it can cause this issue too.

Auto zone will check the alternator and battery for you for free. They do this while both are still in your vehicle. Only takes a few minutes and will help narrow down what's actually wrong with your vehicle.
