Check exhaust system, running thru high water is bad for your car. When metal cools rapidly (such as hot engine meeting large body of water) it can crack and warp. Exhaust is the first expect, it is possible the engine was effected. Have a shop try to find the sorce of the noise.

The Catalytic Converter is the hottest part of the exhasut system and can make a rattle when it brakes apart. How does the rattle act? Increase with RPM? Road speed? Or neither? Only certain RPM's?
