how expensive is it to fix an oil intake unit and is this a serious problem

looking at a 2005 dodge stratus and the person who owns it says it needs a new oil intake
unit or the oil pan needs to be tightened.  they state the oil leaks on the exhaust and
smokes under the hood.  Is this a car we should pass by?

I'd look elsewhere if I were you. In case you still want to give it a try, get the car inspected by a certified shop. Each dollar you'll pay for inspection are worth it. You'll know how much it'll cost you to get it fixed.
