Struts or wheel bearing?

Asked by inchworm123 Aug 26, 2015 at 10:23 AM about the 2012 Jeep Liberty Limited 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2012 Jeep Liberty Limited making a humming/thumping noise constantly when
driving. I also hear it when I turn left, but not turn right. I've heard from a mechanic
that it's the wheel bearing, but a different mechanic that it's the struts.  Has
anyone had this issue before?

Don't know of any issues but take it to some one you trust, sounds like both to me.

I just don't want get one thing fixed and find out that the issue was the other thing. I think it's the bearings too. I don't see why I would need a new suspension when my car only has 37,000 miles on it.

I actually got new tires and the thumping stopped. I am going to replace the bearings and breaks before winter though. Thanks for your help!
